A personal review of design creations
#CabinWeek - 019 Cabin
We started with a 5 sqm cabin, then a 15sqm one and today we look at a ‘larger’ one: 23sqm. The cabin gets a little larger but the exercise remains a great architectural challenge…
Step 3: 019 Cabin / ŠA atelier (Lithuania)
#CabinWeek - Woodnest Cabin
Escaping and reconnecting with Mother Nature may involve a direct link with trees. Some people hug them, other worship them… Why not living on it. Haven’t we all had a house in the trees when we were kids?
Season 1 - Episode 2: Woodnest Cabin by Helen & Hard (Norway).
#CabinWeek - 72h Cabin in Sweden
Starting 2021 with a new series!
#CabinWeek will invite you to escape from the urban life and help you reset. Its aim is to encourage us to be more environmentally conscious and in tune with nature.
2021 should be the year for all of us to slow our pace and reprioritise. This week will highlight five cozy cabins.
Season 1 - Episode 1: 72h Cabin by JeanArch in Sweden.
ShadowBox by Johnson Chou
Recently awarded Interior Residential 2020 by AZ Award from Azure Magazine, the ShadowBox by Johnson Chou is a very distinctive project.

#WoodWeek - 2m26 Kyoto House
“The Japanese are a forest civilisation. Their culture, philosophy and religion are carved out of the forests that blanket the country – not to mention all manner of everyday things, from houses and shrines to walking sticks and spoons.” – Dr. Qing Li, Shinrin-Yoku*
Day 6 – Kyoto House, Kyoto, Japan
#WoodWeek - The Barn House
In Australia, there is a figurative local expression “to have the wood on” meaning to have an advantage over someone, to be able to deliver them a knockout blow, or to stun them. This project is, for sure, taking advantage of living a modern countryside life, 25 minutes away from Brisbane.
Day 5 – The Barn House, Pullenvale, Australia
#WoodWeek - Yishan Pinnacle Flagship Store
A Chinese proverb says: “A closed mind is like a closed book; just a block of wood.” To open the minds, a new cultural and creative store not only culture and coffee but also wood and concrete inserted in a contemporary looking grid space concept.
Day 4– Yishan Pinnacle Flagship Store, Shenzhen, China.
#WoodWeek - JapoNeza Retreat
In Mexico, there is a saying: “El que a buen árbol se arrima, buena sombra le acobija.” (He who gets close to a good tree will find a nice shade for shelter)… This wooden retreat is definitely made for that.
Day 3 – JapoNeza Retreat, Atlangatepec, Tlaxcala, Mexico
