A personal review of design creations
Scandinavian Design @ Piasa
Next month the French auction house will schedule an auction with 274 lots of creations by design masters from Scandinavia. Here is my personal selection.
#Landmark - Eglise St Joseph in Le Havre
Here’s an indisputable but rather unknown landmark in France: the Saint Joseph’s Church in Le Havre, France.
#CabinWeek - Winter Cabin on Mount Kanin
We end our #CabinWeek series, Season One, with a tiny module in the Julian Alps with a spectacular view over Italian and Slovenian summits. But it has its price: you have to climb to reach it.
Season 1 - Episode 5: Winter Cabin on Mount Kanin (Slovenia)
French Design @ Piasa
Piasa, the Paris-based auction house, is kicking off its auction season with a comprehensive selection of French Design. Here is my personal selection.
Modern Design Auction @ Rago
The Design Market is alive despite the current crisis and auctions have been doing rather well lately. Here is my first review for 2021 with the Modern Design Auction by Rago (USA).
#CabinWeek – Le Bois Basalte
In Auvergne, the volcanic region in the centre of France, a former mine site has been transformed into an eco-tourism heaven. All material, food and even the architects are locally sourced.
Season 1 - Episode 4: Le Bois Basalte (France)
#CabinWeek - 019 Cabin
We started with a 5 sqm cabin, then a 15sqm one and today we look at a ‘larger’ one: 23sqm. The cabin gets a little larger but the exercise remains a great architectural challenge…
Step 3: 019 Cabin / ŠA atelier (Lithuania)
#CabinWeek - Woodnest Cabin
Escaping and reconnecting with Mother Nature may involve a direct link with trees. Some people hug them, other worship them… Why not living on it. Haven’t we all had a house in the trees when we were kids?
Season 1 - Episode 2: Woodnest Cabin by Helen & Hard (Norway).
#CabinWeek - 72h Cabin in Sweden
Starting 2021 with a new series!
#CabinWeek will invite you to escape from the urban life and help you reset. Its aim is to encourage us to be more environmentally conscious and in tune with nature.
2021 should be the year for all of us to slow our pace and reprioritise. This week will highlight five cozy cabins.
Season 1 - Episode 1: 72h Cabin by JeanArch in Sweden.
Important Design Auction at Sotheby's
For my last Design Auction review of 2020, I look at the selection brought under the hammer by Sotheby’s. There is an impressive set of creations of Charlotte Perriand but for once, I will concentrate on the pieces from early 20th century.
